Demo availability
The former Demo page now redirects to the Steam storefront homepage, and the main listing no longer shows a Demo download button. Check GRAVHOUNDS on Steam for the available purchase and download options. The Demo details below describe the earlier Demo build.
The Demo launched on October 12, 2026. It is separate from the earlier Playtest, so the old Playtest application is not the Demo download route.
What is included?
The announced Demo contained two solar systems and seven planets. Its original character announcement named Selene, Zane, Dozer and Finn; Luna also appears in the later Demo character-selection screen. See the character guide for their utility abilities.
For your first session, use the tutorial objectives to understand pipelines, building and the launch sequence. Playing alone requires the tutorial; the Demo allows multiplayer players to skip it.
Does your save carry over?
Demo → Early Access: no. The Demo and the main game use separate builds, and Demo progression does not transfer.
Early Access → 1.0: intended, not guaranteed. The plan is to keep progress through the transition to the full release, but that is a different promise from Demo save transfer.
Before you download
The Demo lists 6 GB of storage. The main game lists 10 GB. Check the PC system requirements for the rest of the hardware requirements.
